NEW CHAIRS ARRIVE FROM FRANCE

Although nothing to do with wedding photography in Northern Ireland I thought I would share with you other things I do and that happen in my life. I think if I am going to keep a blog I need to be open and show things that are not directly connected to wedding photography but influence me as a person which will in-turn inspire my work. If I share with you the music I listen to, the books I read and things I love doing then you will have a better understanding of who I am and were I come from as a wedding photographer, as well as the things that influence the style of my work. I follow a few really good blogs and they all have one thing in common, they are open and honest and the author writes what they want when they want and in the style want to write it, they are ultimately honest to themselves and open with their readers. I will endeavour to stick to this simple rule.

Janine and I were in Paris a while back, while there we spent a lot of time relaxing with a book or two in the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens. We both loved the chairs that were dotted around the little cafes in the grounds and Janine made it her mission to find out who made them. After a bit of searching she found the company, who is off-course French, so hey presto here they are in our little bit of France in our back garden. If anyone is curious the company is called Fermob.

We have been spending a bit of time at the minute working on the garden and it is going to be fab when it’s finished, just waiting on the little granite cobbles to arrive and a bit planting then all will be revealed.

A POST THAT I HAD NO INTENTION TO POST

I came home today from the studio and I noticed that there were flowers in the hallway, after asking about them I found out that there are always flowers on the table. It’s amazed me that I passed them every day and I never noticed them. Anyway, the reason I am posting this is that I learn’t a lesson, I need to slow down and open my eyes more and see the things that are in front of me, maybe I should carry this theory into my work.

On another note, if you are trying to contact me in the next few days you can guess where I am by the image above, if you leave me a message I promise to get back to you. I wonder how may other wedding photographers in Northern Ireland have this image in a room somewhere in their house.

I’m hoping to get a chance in the next day or so to post some great weddings I have photographed over the last week, there are two inparticular that I have promised brides so I will get them on for you both as soon as possible, even if I have to burn the midnight oil.
