I was uploading Jonathan & Annette’s wedding photographs to my website today and I thought I would add some to my Journal. I didn’t know this until their wedding day but Annette’s parents lived beside me and I used to play with her brother Louis many years ago. It’s amazing how small Northern Ireland is, nearly every wedding I shoot there is someone at it that I have a connection with.

The wedding took place at St Patricks near Ballynahinch, then onto the reception at Larchfield Estate outside Lisburn. The brief for the day was to keep it casual with a few family groups and some of them around the beautiful grounds of Larchfield.

I have admiring the work of a couple of American wedding photographers recently, they have both been voted in the top ten wedding photographers in the world by Pro-Photo. Jose Villa and Heather Waraksa, their work has a lovely whimsical simplicity, it’s a style I really love, mixing Documentary photography with loose casual posing.
